“This

Tips
for Professional Portraits
First Impressions

Not so long ago we all had the opportunity to
make our first impression with other people in person. Today, however,
more and more people are “meeting” us through our web
sites and other promotional materials before we ever get to look
them in the eye and shake their hands. This is a relatively new
problem, as well as a new opportunity. Without a professionally
taken portrait we have already put ourselves at a disadvantage.
Until we meet, our portrait is who we are.
Just as we hope to make a great first impression
in person, it is equally important that we make an excellent first
impression via the materials that potential clients and customers
come into contact with during that crucial time when they are evaluating
us, and making important decisions. We must look good, even before
we meet.
An excellent photographic portrait is a very important
component of making a great first impression. A likeness should
portray you in the most favorable light. A snapshot taken by a friend,
colleague or amateur photographer is rarely going to allow you to
put your best foot forward and show your confidence, sincerity,
good grooming and intelligence as well as one taken by a professional
who specializes in portrait photography. We have all seen the photos
used by some of our colleagues…standing in front of a wall,
taken by a friend with a digital camera. The lighting isn’t
right, the shadows are all wrong, the results are acceptable, but
barely. Do you want to look acceptable, or absolutely terrific?

Professionals and business people are faced with
a dilemma: Should they expend less effort and money for an “acceptable”
likeness of themselves, or spend what they should to portray themselves
in the best possible way? Don’t we all, really, want to look
just as good as we possibly can? The extra effort is worth if for
many reasons.

Who needs a professional portrait?
- Executives
- Physician
- Dentists
- Educators
- Realtors
- Managers
- Administrators
- Consultants
- Really, anyone whose image is on a website
or will appear in promotional materials
Because professionals and executives need
to have current portraits for a variety of uses, we make sure that
you will own the rights to your portrait. That way you can use your
portrait any time and any place without any copyright questions
whatsoever.
